Kranti Prakash Jha was born on 2 November 1988 in Ratauli, Begusarai. His father Late Dr Deochandra Jha, was an RDDE in Bihar education service and posted at Purnia, Bihar. Kranti went to Parora Awasiya Madhya Vidyalaya, Purnea and St. M. G. High School, Begusarai. He graduated from Hindu College with Major in History.

Career
Kranti started his career as an actor with theatre plays. He joined theatre groups Avikal and Actor’s Cult. He then worked in several tv commercials for brands like Hyundai Accent, Panasonic, Nokia, Pepsodent, and VIP.
Kranti made his debut in films in 2011 and acted in Bhojpuri movie Deshwa. He was seen in Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela in 2013. Kranti got recognition from biographical sports movie M.S. Dhoni : The Untold Story in 2016. He portrayed the role of Santosh Jha, an Indian cricketer and childhood friend of Dhoni in the movie. Some of other films are Once Upon a Time in Bihar, Mithila Makhaan, Kaashi in Search of Ganga, and Batla House.
