Liverpool fans boo national anthem at Brentford game
Liverpool will look to continue their solid run of form as they welcome Brentford to Anfield this evening for a Premier League contest.
Jurgen Klopp’s side have won five games in a row and now sit only four points back from Manchester United in fourth, though they have played a game more than their rivals. A victory over Thomas Frank’s Bees will cut that gap to one and give the Reds hope that their up-and-down season can end on a high and earn them a place in next season’s Champions League.
Brentford’s own hopes of European qualification had been beginning to fade after a tough April, but two wins in four days have kept the team in the mix. They come into the match ninth in the table four points behind Aston Villa and Tottenham. A victory on Merseyside is a must if the London club are to continute their challenge for a spot in either the Europa League or the Europa Conference League.
