Wimbledon LIVE: Novak Djokovic v Carlos Alcaraz in men’s final today – latest score

Carlos Alcaraz vs Novak Djokovic in Wimbledon 2023 men’s final

Novak Djokovic faces Carlos Alcaraz in the Wimbledon men’s singles final as the world’s two best players go head to head for the title on Centre Court.

Djokovic is attempting to win his fifth consecutive Wimbledon crown, which would move the Serbian level with Roger Federer on a men’s record eight singles titles. Alcaraz is playing in his first Wimbledon final and the 20-year-old Spaniard has the challenge of ending Djokovic’s dominant run at SW19, where he has won 34 matches in a row and has not lost on Centre Court since 2013.

There are also hopes of a home winner on the final day of Wimbledon, with Henry Searle in the boys’ singles final. Searle can become the first British boys’ champion in 61 years as he faces fifth seed Yaroslav Demin, but Alfie Hewett’s bid to win a first wheelchair singles title was thwarted by the 17-year-old star Tokito Oda, who triumphed 6-4 6-2 on Court One.

The men’s final comes after Marketa Vondrousova triumphed over a heartbroken Ons Jabeur in straight sets to win the Wimbledon women’s title on Saturday.

Wimbledon 2023: How many sets to win the final?

It feels like this final has really arrived now, Alcaraz playing much more confidently after what was clearly an incredibly nervous start.

There is a long way back, though. Djokovic was won his last 104 matches in best-of-five win winning the first set, with Alcaraz requiring to win three out of the net four to win the title.

This second set will be crucial, however, and it’s so finely poised.
