Aaron Yoo is an American actor from Dallas, Texas. He is best known for starring as Ronald “Ronnie” Chu in the film Disturbio (2007) as well as playing Russell Kwon in the science fiction series The Tomorrow People (TV series, 2013–14). He has a sister.
Yoo was born to Korean parents and moved from Edison to East Brunswick, New Jersey at 8. He studied at East Brunswick High School, where he played cello in the orchestra. In 1997, he graduated. Afterward, he attended the University of Pennsylvania where he earned a degree in theatre in 2001 and was a member of the Sigma Nu fraternity there.

Career

Aaron Yoo starred in the 2007 film American Pastime (2007), The Wackness (2008), Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist (2008), and Labor Pains (2009), and had a role in the slasher film Friday the 13th (2009). He had his appendix removed quickly before the filming of Friday the 14th began, and could not shoot his scenes right away.
As soon as he recovered for filming, the director Marcus Nispel instantly hung him upside down in some rafters, exposing the staples over his surgical wound, for the role’s post-death shot. In 2007, he co-starred in HBO’s comedy-drama filmRocket Science as the protagonist’s best friend, Heston.
Aaron Yoo’s stage credits include the opening of Christopher Shinn’s Where Do We Live, the anthology production Savage Acts (both 2004), and Mac Wellman’s Cellophane (2003).
In his spare time, he practices DJing, pole-vaulting. He is fluent in Korean and English.
