  • Napier made his debut stage appearance in the romantic lead opposite Gladys George in Lady in Waiting. Then, he went on to appear in various films including Random Harvest (1942), Cat People (1942), The Uninvited (1944), and In The Song of Bernadette (1943).
  • He was cast as Bruce Wayne’s faithful butler Alfred in Batman in 1965 and continued to play the role until the series was taken off television in 1968.
  • In 1987, Napier suffered a heart attack and was hospitalized in June 1988, after being gravely ill for several Alan sadly passed away on August 8, 1988, while admitted at the Berkeley East Convalescent Hospital in Santa Monica, California.
