She spent her childhood years growing up in Hastings, East Sussex.

From 2013 to 2016, she was cast as Carmen Howle in the children’s television drama series The Dumping Ground (also informally referred to as The DG). For this role, Amy-Leigh Hickman was nominated in the “Performance of the Year” category at the RTS North East and Border Television Awards in 2017.

She played the role of Nasreen Paracha in the comedy-drama series Ackley Bridge from 2017 to 2019. This performance won her an RTS Yorkshire Award in 2020.

She co-starred as Yasmin in the television drama film The Left Behind in 2019.

In 2020, she served as the narrator for the Australian-Canadian children’s adventure comedy-drama television series The Saddle Club.

Amy-Leigh Hickman’s stage credits include having been cast in productions of Sleeping Beauty, Aladdin, Beautiful Thing, Passing, and East is East.
