Anand Mahindra proposed to her by giving her a ring that belongs to his grandmother. He took a semester off to get married to her, as he was pursuing his bachelor’s degree at Boston University at that time. After their marriage, the couple moved to the US to continue their higher studies at Boston University.

The couple has two daughters named Divya and Aalika. Her daughter, Divya Mahindra, is the creative director, and Aalika Mahindra, is the editorial director of ‘Verve’ magazine, which was founded by Anuradha Mahindra. Her daughter Divya Mahindra married Jorge Zapata, an architect.

In 1995, she founded ‘Verve’ magazine, which is India’s first home-grown women’s luxury lifestyle monthly magazine. She is also the editor and publisher of the ‘Verve’ magazine. Apart from Verve magazine, she was the co-founder and editor of ‘Man’s World’ magazine (now MW). She has worked as the editor-in-chief of ‘Rolling Stone India’ publication as well. Besides working as an editor and publisher, she has also worked in the advertising world and as a journalist for almost 12 years.
