She was born partially deaf and her mother is deaf.

She was spotted in 2007 when she was using sign language with her mother. After Aryana was discovered by their neighbor, she was eventually cast for the role of Max in Orphan (2009).

She made her first theatrical film appearance by playing the role of Max (Kate and John Coleman’s 5-year-old deaf daughter) in the 2009 psychological horror film Orphan, starring Vera Farmiga, Peter Sarsgaard, Isabelle Fuhrman, CCH Pounder, and Jimmy Bennett.

Along with Milla Jovovich, Michelle Rodriguez, Kevin Durand, Sienna Guillory, Shawn Roberts, Colin Salmon, Johann Urb, Boris Kodjoe, and Li Bingbing, Aryana Engineer co-starred as Becky (a child clone who plays the role of the suburban Alice clone’s deaf daughter who is later rescued by the real Alice) in the action horror film Resident Evil: Retribution in 2012. The film is the 5th installment in the Resident Evil film series and serves as a sequel to Resident Evil: Afterlife (2010).

She brought to life the character of Belinda in the short family drama film Dreaming of Peggy Lee in 2015.

Growing up, Aryana had a pet cat named Cinder.
