She has been the filmmaker Nicole Holofcener’s muse and the two have collaborated together on acclaimed films like Lovely and Amazing (2001), Friends with Money (2006), Walking and Talking (1996), Please Give (2010), Enough Said (2013), etc.

Catherine starred opposite the then-unknown Brad Pitt in one of his earlier films Johnny Suede (1991). The two have maintained a close friendship over the years, and are known to attend each other’s movie premieres frequently. Lastly, she is also good friends with Pitt’s ex-wife, Jennifer Aniston.
