Chirag Kotwal was born in 2001 (age 22 years; as of 2023) in Bhaderwah, Jammu and Kashmir. He did his schooling at B.S.F Senior Secondary School, Jammu. He pursued a bachelor’s degree in engineering at Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute (VJIT) in Mumbai, Maharashtra. He took singing training at Ajivasan Music Academy in Mumbai.

He has participated in various singing shows. He auditioned for season 1 of the singing reality show Indian Idol Junior in 2013.

In 2015, he participated as a contestant in Max I Genius Young Singing Stars Season-2 held at Hotel Taj Vivanta in Mumbai. He held the second position in the show and got an opportunity to contract with Universal Music Group.

In November 2020, Chirag Kotwal auditioned for Sony TV’s singing reality show Indian Idol Season 12 but got dismissed in the Theater round.
