  • He was 17 years old when he joined the United States Merchant Marine in the last months of World War II.
  • He supported Barry Goldwater in the 1964 United States presidential election.
  • In 1997, Clint Walker received the Golden Boot Award.
  • He narrowly escaped death in a freak skiing accident in May 1971 at Mammoth Mountain, California as the tip of a ski pole pierced his heart. He was taken to a hospital and was pronounced dead but a doctor detected faint signs of life and rushed him to surgery. Walker received the required treatment and was back at work within 2 months of the accident. He himself described the accident as a near-death experience.
