  • In 1954, he was appointed as the first ambassador-at-large of UNICEF. Furthermore, he was awarded the French Legion of Honour in 1986 for his decades’ worth of service to the organization.
  • Danny dreamt of becoming a surgeon while growing up. However, he could not pursue his dream due to financial problems. Nevertheless, he was made an honorary member of the American College of Surgeons and the American Academy of Pediatrics later in his life.
