Eddie Fisher Facts
Upon learning of her father’s endless s*xcapades through his 1999 autobiography Been There Done That, Carrie Fisher retorted, “I’m thinking of having my DNA fumigated”.
His ex-wives Debbie Reynolds and Elizabeth Taylor were extremely close friends, but they had a fallout over him. The two later buried the hatchet and came together to star in a TV movie called These Old Broads (2001), which was written by his daughter Carrie. In the movie, much like in real life, the two women ridicule their common ex-husband named ‘Freddie Hunter’, who was clearly based on Fisher.
He was born on the same day as another famous singer, Jimmy Dean (not the same as the actor James Dean) i.e., on August 10, 1928.
The Hollywood Walk of Fame features 2 stars in honor of Fisher. The one at 6241 Hollywood Boulevard is for recording, and the other at 1724 Vine Street is for television.
