FA Cup fifth-round draw LIVE: Liverpool, Manchester City and more learn fate

Pochettino ‘desperate’ for trophies after reaching Carabao Cup final

The FA Cup fifth-round draw takes place this afternoon with teams starting to dream of a day out at Wembley.

The draw will begin just ahead of the fourth-round tie between Liverpool and Norwich, with the Reds welcoming the Canaries to Anfield just two days after Jurgen Klopp confirmed his shock departure this summer. Newport will also be in the hat, given their home tie against Manchester United kicks off later this afternoon.

Sixth-tier Maidstone United are the story of the fourth round so far, after sinking Championship high-flyers Ipswich Town to book their place in the fifth round. The final tie of the round takes place on Monday night between Blackburn and Wrexham, with several replays to follow.

The fifth round ties are scheduled to take place during the week commencing Monday 26 February and winners will pocket £225,000. Follow the draw live below plus get the latest odds and tips for Newport v Man Utd right here:

Play suspended after trouble in stands during West Brom v Wolves FA Cup tie

Play was suspended after trouble broke out in the stands during West Brom’s FA Cup derby against Wolves at The Hawthorns.

The stoppage came shortly after Matheus Cunha had struck to give Wolves a 2-0 lead over their Black Country rivals in the 78th minute.

Police and security needed to rush to a corner of the ground supposedly holding home fans as the disturbance developed, while the players were ushered off the pitch.

West Brom vs Wolves set to resume

It looks as if they are set to resume at the Hawthorns after a 30-minute delay. The paramedics are still attending to fans injured in the clashes so we still could have more time to wait.

We haven’t got confirmation but the fifth-round draw will no doubt be delayed as a result of this.

Crowd trouble at the Hawthorns ground

The day’s earlier game between Wolves and West Brom has unfortunately been suspended because of fan disorder in the 82nd minute.

Wolves were 2-0 up at the time and it’s currently unclear whether it will be able to continue.

The Welsh club came through a replay with Eastleigh to progress to this stage and will hope to cause a shock as Erik ten Hag’s side visit Rodney Parade.

The League Two team do have a strange habit of giving Premier League clubs a fright, drawing with Tottenham in 2018 and threatening something similar against Manchester City a year later.

Can they produce a famous result as Manchester United come to town?

FA Cup fourth-round fixtures today: Every game, TV channel and start time

The FA Cup continues this weekend with the fourth round of the 2023-24 competition, and a host of ties will be shown live on TV.

Bournemouth and Swansea kicked off the action on Thursday night at the Vitality Stadium. Four intriguing fixtures followed on Friday night, including Bristol City v Nottingham Forest and Chelsea v Aston Villa, but the pick of the bunch was Tottenham Hotspur’s meeting with Manchester City, which Pep Guardiola’s side edged.

The lowest ranked side left in this year’s FA Cup, sixth-tier Maidstone United, beat Ipswich Town on Saturday, before three all-Premier League ties including Fulham’s defeat by Newcastle United.

Sunday will see Liverpool take on Norwich City (ITV 1) before Newport play the game of their lives against Manchester United (BBC One). Blackburn Rovers v Wrexham rounds off the ties on Monday night (BBC Wales).
