The majority of Fulham’s problems have been caused by their own doing, with Diop and Ream consistently failing with their passes when in possession at the back. The centre-back pairing are playing into the hands of Pochettino’s visitors, who look a real threat on the counter-attack.

Jimenez shows his attacking prowess as his quick feet create space for a cutback pass towards the edge of the area. Pereira is ready to pull the trigger but Fernandez steps in with a last-ditch challenge in front of Sanchez’s goal.

CHANCE! Diop’s woeful pass is comfortably intercepted by Fernandez, who threads through for Palmer. The Chelsea winger attempts a delicate throughball before a loose ball falls back to Fernandez but the World Cup winner can only fire a 20-yard strike well over the crossbar.

GOOD STOP! Mudryk has the chance to power past Castagne and duly obliges, reaching the byline before slamming a left-footed drive across the face of goal. Leno does excellently to stop the low effort, grasping the ball into his one-handed clutch and thwarting the incoming Broja.

Willian goes short from the resulting corner but his low cross at the second attempt is easily dealt with by Cucurella. Fernandez then goes down near the touchline but Fulham play on with a quick throw-in, much to the annoyance of Pochettino.

Castagne has space on the right flank but Mudryk smashes into the Fulham right-back with a well-timed challenge. The Belgium full-back regains possession before his curling cross is headed behind by Cucurella, who did well to get in front of Willian.

Pochettino will be delighted to see two of his struggling players fire the Blues into an early two-goal lead. Broja has been sidelined with a knee injury, while Mudryk scored his first goal for Chelsea in what is his 21st Premier League game.
