Greg Tarzan Davis is an American actor, model, and theatre artist who started his acting pursuits with theatre and then went on to appear in films and television projects. He is known for playing roles such as Lieutenant Javy “Coyote” Machado in the action drama film Top Gun: Maverick (2022) and Dr. Jordan Wright in the medical drama television series Grey’s Anatomy. In addition to that, Greg Tarzan Davis has also been cast in many other on-screen projects which include the likes of Chicago P.D., The Call of the Wild, All Rise, Good Trouble, Tales from the Hood 2, Controversy, Woke, and Grand Hotel.

Greg Tarzan Davis Facts

He started his career while studying at Louisiana State University and used to post comedy videos on social media platforms such as Instagram and Vine.

After graduating from LSU, Greg started working as an Elementary School Teacher for the Louisiana State University Laboratory School teaching 1st-3rd graders. He stated that he decided to pursue acting after “I realized it was time to change careers after preaching to my students that they should follow their dreams no matter what.”

Greg Tarzan Davis made his first TV show appearance as Reece in an episode titled Don’t Bury This Case of the police procedural action-drama series Chicago P.D. in January 2017.

He shifted to Los Angeles in 2018 in order to focus on his acting career.

He played the role of Kahad in the 2018 horror comedy anthology television film Tales from the Hood 2.

Greg Tarzan Davis made his first theatrical film appearance as Orchard Worker in the adventure film The Call of the Wild in 2020. Based on Jack London’s 1903 novel of the same name, the film stars Harrison Ford, Omar Sy, Dan Stevens, Karen Gillan, and Bradley Whitford.

Between 2020 and 2021, he played the recurring role of Zion in the television drama series Good Trouble.

In 2021, he started appearing as Dr. Jordan Wright (the favorite of Dr. Nick Marsh who crosses paths with the main character Meredith Grey) in the ABC medical drama series Grey’s Anatomy.

Greg brought to life the character of  LT Javy “Coyote” Machado (a F/A-18E pilot and mission candidate) in the 2022 action drama film Top Gun: Maverick, a sequel to the 1986 film Top Gun. The film’s lead cast included Tom Cruise, Miles Teller, Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm, Glen Powell, Lewis Pullman, Ed Harris, and Val Kilmer.

Greg stays fit by working out regularly.
