He grew up in a large devout family with 37 cousins and is the only one out of all his cousins to not attend college.

Jacob has made appearances on reality television shows such as Celebrity Paranormal Project and Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars.

In addition to English, he is also fluent in the Spanish language.

In 1999, Jacob was chosen to be a member of the boy band O-Town during the first season of the reality television series, Making the Band on ABC. The group’s name represents the city of Orlando, Florida, where the auditions took place.

His group O-Town‘s breakout single was All or Nothing (2001) from their self-titled debut studio album. The single reached #3 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 charts.

Following a less-than-overwhelming response to their second album, the band officially disbanded the next year in 2003. Ten years later, the group reunited in 2013 with the exception of Ashley Parker Angel, who declined to rejoin the group.

In the interim years, Jacob performed as the frontman of a country band called Jacob’s Loc.

He formerly owned a pet monkey for 11 years named Abby.

As a member of O-Town, Jacob performed as the opening act for Britney Spears’ Dream Within a Dream Tour in 2001.
