Film
In 2003, Jay Soni made his debut in Bollywood with the film Dil Maange More alongside Shahid Kapoor. In 2004, he played a supporting role in the film Fida. In 2007, he appeared in two films; Buddha Mar Gaya as Pawan and
MP3: Mera Pehla Pehla Pyaar. In 2018, Jay made his debut in Gujarati cinema with the film Lamboo Rastoo in which he played the role of Dhaivat Yagnik. In March 2022, Jay appeared in a short film ‘Women’s day special health video’ on YouTube.

- In an interview, Jay revealed that he never thought of taking acting as a career. Further, he said,
Really! I had such a typical Gujarati accent and was so fat that no one could have ever imagined I’d end up in front of the camera some day! I went to Mumbai for graduation. One day when some friends went to audition for a TV show, I went alongwith them and found being inside a studio quite heady.
- In 2020, Jay Soni opened a cafe in Mumbai but it was shut due to lockdown amid Covid 19. In an interview, he talked about his cafe and said,
I wanted to learn about that aspect as well, and before investing in something big, it was important to take some experience with a smaller place. However, I wasn’t able to dedicate much time to it, and then the lockdown happened. So with most of the staff gone, I had to shut down the place.
