Jayati Bhatia is an Indian actress who is best known for her role as “Mataji” in the Hindi TV serial ‘Sasural Simar Ka’ on Colours TV.

Jayati Bhatia was born on Tuesday, 28 July 1970 (age 52 years; as of 2022) in Orissa. She pursued a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Delhi University. Jayati pursued classical dance for 17 years and holds a diploma in Indian classical dance (Odissi). She took professional training in classical dance from the Padma Shri discipline Mayadhar Raut.

Career
On 1 July 1997, Jayati left Delhi and arrived in Mumbai to start her acting career.
Television
In 1996, Jayati made her acting debut with the Sony TV series titled ‘Itihaas’ which was produced by Ekta Kapoor. In the same year, she appeared in the Indian sitcom titled Jassi Jassi Koi Nahi, in which she played the role of Bindiya.

In 1999, Jayati appeared in the Sony TV show ‘Kanyadaan’ alongside Kirron Kher.

Later, Jayati worked in several TV serials including CID (2000), Kitne Kool Hai Hum (2002), Kasautii Zindagii Kay (2003-06), Mamta (2006-07), and Sasural Genda Phool (2010-11).
Reality TV show
In 2011, Jayanti took the winner trophy home after winning the Indian cooking show ‘Kitchen Champion- season 4’ which was hosted by Arjun Bijlani. In 2012, she participated in the dance TV show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 5.’
Film
Jayati Bhatia lent her voice as a narrator to the Bollywood film ‘Barfi’ (2012). Later, she played the role of Rukhsana Ali in a feature film titled Rough Book (2015).
