Jyothi completed her schooling at Port High School in Visakhapatnam. Later, she enrolled at Acharya Nagarjuna University.

Jyothi was enlisted at the Sports Authority of India hostel in Hyderabad where she trained for two years under the watchful eye of coach Olympian N Ramesh. Then joined the Centre of Excellence in Guntur. In 2019, Yarraji began training under British coach James Hillier at the Reliance Athletics High-Performance Centre located in Bhubaneswar.
