Kailash Satyarthi Biography 

Kailash Satyarthi is a great social activist who fought hard for getting the rights of children and raised his voice against the atrocities on children and child labor.

Satyarthi was born on 11 January 1954 in Vidisha district of Madhya Pradesh, India. His real name is Kailas Sharma.
He completed his early education from the Government Boys Higher Secondary School and electrical engineering from Samrat Ashoka Technological Institute, Vidisha and then received a post graduation degree in high-voltage engineering.
He has also received awards for his work at national and international level. This includes the Nobel Prize given to him in 2014. He shared the award with Malala Yosufzai of Pakistan.

In the year 1980, Kailash Satyarthi quit engineering and devoted himself completely to social service and struggled to get children their rights.

In 1983, Kailash Satyarthi started the “Bachpan Bachao Andolan”. Under this movement, he rescued more than 80 thousand children from the clutches of human trafficking, child labor, bonded labor, etc., provided them with better education and living facilities and changed the lives of those children.
In order to get the rights of the needy, helpless and poor children, he joined with many NGOs teachers and trade unions and due to which they raided many factories and factories where the children were being forced to work.
