Manjari Fadnis was born on Sunday, 10 July 1984 (age 38 years; as of 2022) in Sagar, Madhya Pradesh.  Belonging to a family where her father, Bharat Kumar Fadnis served in the Indian Army, she grew up in different parts of India including,  Shimla, Jammu, Delhi, Mumbai and her hometown Pune. She studied at St.Anne High School Fort, Mumbai, India. Stepping into the world of Bollywood and preoccupancy with the films resulted in the discontinuance of her studies but she found her way to complete her graduation from The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). As none of her family members was from the entertainment industry, they initially hesitated to allow her to enter the Bollywood film industry. Later on, after realising her zeal in pursuing a career in acting she decided to eliminate all the negativity from her career and to work in positivity with hard work. After entering the world of entertainment, she faced many difficulties when she was asked by producers to compromise for the films which she rejected and turned out to be thrown out of many big film projects. She continued with the short films after her debut film in Bollywood facing slow progress in her career. In an interview held in 2019, she said that it is now well known by the producers that she will never agree to compromise. Manjari Fadnis didn’t give up and as a fruitful result, she got a proposal for a big-budget film from a south producer.

Parents & Siblings

Her father Bharat Kumar Fadnis served as an Indian Army Officer. His transferrable job gave her an opportunity to travel throughout his service period in the Indian Army with her only brother Gagan Fadnis and her mother Ruchi Fadnis who is a housewife.

Relationships/Affairs

While answering the question if Manjari Fadnis is still looking for love in an interview in 2019,  she said,
I’m still looking for love. I’m dating someone but as of now I don’t want to say anything more.”

Career

Film

In 2004, she started her journey in the Bollywood film industry with a leading role in her debut film ‘Rok Sako To Rok Lo’ as Suhana. She continued her journey and featured in Bengali movies where her debut film ‘Faltu’ (2006) in which she played the role of  Tuktuki and another movie ‘Mumbai Salsa’ (2007) in which she played the role of Maya Chandhok were National Award-winning Bengali films. She also appeared on the screen in Tamil movies with her debut in ‘Muthirai’ (2009) as Aarthi. She marked her performance in Kannada movies with a debut in ‘Munjane’ (2012) as Pavithra, a debut as Sailaja Reddy in ‘Siddu From Sikakulam’ (2008) in Telugu films and as Priya in ‘Mr. Fraud” (2014) in Malayalam films. She gave an exceptional performance in the Hindi-language romantic-comedy movie ‘Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na’ as Meghna Pariyar which gave her a big break. She is also known for her impactable performance in a multi-starring film ‘Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon’ (2015) directed by Abbas Mustan.

Being a part of movies in different languages, Manjari Fadnis admitted that language had never been a barrier to her career and would love to be a part of movies in other languages as well in an interview saying,
If I get a good script and role, I would love to do a Marathi film as well. If I can do Bengali, Tamil and Telugu gilms, why not Marathi. Language has never been a problem with me. Bengali is easier to understand. But, Telugu and Tamil are difficult.”
She marked herself as a co-producer with her work in ‘Yeh Dooriyan‘ (2021), a series which was planned to be released as a movie but now is divided into episodes and is streaming on the social video platform, YouTube.
