  • Mark was interested in engineering from a very young age. While still in high school, he created a pair of goggles that could help avoid eye irritation while cutting onions.
  • Between 2004 and 2013, he served NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration – an independent agency of the U.S. federal government responsible for the country’s civil space program, aeronautics research, and space research) as an engineer.
  • For the majority of his time there, Mark worked on Curiosity (a car-sized rover that explores specific areas on the surface of Mars) at NASA‘s ‘Jet Propulsion Laboratory’ (a federally funded research and development center in Pasadena, California).
