Wife & Children
In 2011, Moin’s wedding, which was supposed to take place in the same year, faced two delays, and the news surfaced on the internet. The first delay happened in mid-May as a result of the US operation in Pakistan that attracted attention from around the world to find Osama Bin Laden. Following this procedure, there was another delay as a result of growing international criticism, which led Dawood Ibrahim to temporarily reschedule the wedding. At the end of the year, Moin Ibrahim got married to Saniya Shaikh on 23 September 2011, at the White House, Dawood’s house in Karachi, in front of about 2,000 guests. Saniya Shaikh, a wealthy businesswoman from Karachi, assists her family’s companies in both Pakistan and the United Kingdom. The couple has three children.
Dawood Ibrahim’s Depression
In 2017, Mumbai police arrested gangster Iqbal Kaskar, the younger brother of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim. The leading Police Inspector Pradeep Sharma of the Thane extortion squad revealed in a media conference that Iqbal Kaskar confessed that Dawood Ibrahim was suffering from depression. This was allegedly because Dawood did not have anyone to run his empire after his only son, Moin Ibrahim, cut ties with the family. Pradeep Sharma revealed that Dawood was worried about his health, and stated in a telephonic conversation to Iqbal Kaskar that he was concerned about who would take over his responsibilities. Iqbal Kaskar claimed that Moin Ibrahim was devoted to his faith and had no interest in his father’s business. He became a maulana, or religious instructor, in a Pakistani mosque.

Moin Ibrahim’s Spiritual Path
Several media sources claimed that same year that Moin Ibrahim, his wife Saniya Shaikh, and their three kids were residing together in a home given by the mosque where Moin was employed as a Maulana. He allegedly started imparting religious lessons and taught others what he knew. In the media conference, in 2017, Thane Anti-Extortion Cell head Pradeep Sharma revealed that Moin, who had a degree in management, had first helped his father for a few years. But subsequently, he decided to step back and concentrate on advancing Allah’s teachings. Pradeep Sharma said,
Moin is understood to be deadly against his father’s illegal activities which have given the entire family a notorious reputation worldwide and made many of them wanted fugitives everywhere. His son is practically estranged from the family and all its businesses since the past few years, but it is not clear if he is on speaking terms with his father.”

Moin Ibrahim: The Devout Maulana
Iqbal Kaskar revealed throughout the investigation that his nephew Moin Ibrahim was a well-respected and certified religious instructor, or “Maulana.” Iqbal also added that Moin had memorised the complete “Holy Quran” and had attained the status of “Hafiz-e-Quran.” Furthermore, he decided to leave the luxuries of the family’s rich home, which is situated in Karachi’s affluent Saddar sector, the Clifton region in Pakistan, and began living in a mosque next door. Saniya, his wife, and their three small children stayed with him in the small flat that the mosque management had provided to them. Iqbal Kaskar went on to say that educating young children and teaching the lessons of Islam and the Holy Quran was one of Moin Ibrahim’s main religious responsibilities. He was in charge of leading the call to prayer, leading “namaz” at different ceremonies, and carrying out other customary social-religious duties. Pradeep Sharma shared with the media platforms that Moin decided to quit his luxurious life and became a man of God. Pradeep said,
Its clear that Moin, who could have inherited his father’s vast legal and illegal business empires, ironically, has decided to become a man of God and completely shunned a life of luxury which was at his command.”
