Pat Nixon studied at Excelsior High School and graduated in 1929. After that, she got enrolled at Fullerton College and paid for her education by working odd jobs, including working as a driver, a pharmacy manager, a telephone operator, and a typist.
She joined the University of Southern California (USC) in the year 1931 and graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in merchandising in 1937. She also earned a certificate to teach at the high school level, which USC deemed equivalent to a master’s degree.
