Ratan Jindal holds the positions of chairman and co-managing director at Jindal Stainless Ltd. He also serves as the non-executive chairman for Jindal Stainless (Hisar) Ltd. and is the managing director and director at Jindal Stainless FZE, both subsidiaries of Jindal Stainless Ltd. He is actively involved in various organizations, such as the Young Presidents’ Organization, World Steel Association, Confederation of Indian Industry, Nickel Development Institute, PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry, and Indian Stainless Steel Development Association. Zee News Controversy

Zee Business Editor Samir Ahluwalia had taken legal action by filing a criminal defamation case against Jindal Steel & Power Ltd (JSPL), Ratan Jindal, Naveen Jindal, and 13 others. The case is linked to revelations in the Coalgate scam involving Naveen Jindal and JSPL. The defamation claims were based on harmful statements in the First Information Report against Sudhir Chaudhary and false statements made by Naveen Jindal during a press conference on 25 October 2012. The Zee News employees contended that they were unfairly involved in a case related to Coalgate scam disclosures involving those named in the criminal defamation case.
