Sakshi Reddy Murder Case
On 28 May 2023, a 16-year-old girl named Sakshi Reddy was mercilessly killed by Sahil at the Shahbad Dairy police station area in Rohini, Delhi. In the brutal attack, Sahil first stabbed Sakshi with a knife for over 20 times and later picked up a concrete block to smash her head. Sahil fled from the spot after committing the crime. The incident got recorded on a CCTV camera placed nearby. After the incident, Sakshi was immediately rushed to a hospital by the police, where she was declared brought dead. Apparently, the incident took place when Sakshi was on her way to attend the birthday party of her friend Neetu’s son. According to some sources, Sakshi was in a relationship with Sahil and the two had a quarrel on 27 May 2023 after which Sahil made up his mind to kill Sakshi. After the investigation in the case, Delhi Police Special CP Dependra Pathak said,
As per the information as of now, they (Sahil-Sakshi) knew each other and there was some quarrel or they parted ways. The accused (Sahil) had a grudge and he did this kind of gruesome murder. It’s a crime of passion. Further probe is being done.”
A case under Section 32 (muder) of the Indian Penal Code was registered by Sakshi’s father at the Shahbad Dairy police station. Apparently, Sakshi’s mother has demanded the death penalty for Sahil.

Arrest
Soon after a case was registered against Sahil at the Shahbad Dairy police station, the Delhi police started searching for him. The police conducted raids at Sahil’s house, his friends’ houses, and his relatives’ houses. On 29 May 2023, Sahil was arrested from Bulandshahr in Uttar Pradesh by the Delhi Police.

- As per some reports, Sahil resides in Delhi’s JJ Colony in Shahbad.
- A BJP leader Kapil Mishra termed the incident as love-jihad and said the murder was planned. Posting a picture of Sahil in police custody, Kapil tweeted,
