Salhoutuonuo Kruse is an Indian social activist, politician, and entrepreneur, who contested the 2023 Nagaland Assembly polls. She came to the limelight in March 2023 after she and Hekani Jakhalu became the first women to become a Member of Nagaland’s Legislative Assembly.
Salhoutuonuo Kruse was born in 1967 (age 56 years; as of 2023) in Nagaland, India. After completing high school at Ministers’ Hill Baptist Higher Secondary School (MHBHSS) in Kohima, Nagaland, she enrolled at Kohima College, where she completed a pre-university course in arts in 1986.

Before becoming a politician, Salhoutuonuo Kruse was associated with several Non-governmental Organisations (NGOs) in Nagaland and worked for women’s rights. In 2011, she assumed the presidency of Angamimiapfu Mechu Krotho (now known as Angami Women Organization). She remained in the post till 2014.
