Alongside Barbara Stanwyck and Paul Kelly, Wendell Corey co-starred as Cleve Marshall (an assistant district attorney who is an unhappily married man who would rather get drunk than go home) in the film noir drama film The File on Thelma Jordon in 1950.

He co-starred as Bradford “Brad” Scott in the drama film No Sad Songs for Me in 1950.

Along with Jane Powell, Danielle Darrieux, Fernando Lamas, Marcel Dalio, Una Merkel, Richard Anderson, Jean Murat, and Vic Damone, Wendell Corey co-starred as Jim Stauton Rogers in the musical comedy film Rich, Young and Pretty in 1951.

From 1957 to 1958, he brought to life the character of Captain Ralph Baxter in the police series Harbor Command.

Wendell Corey was a Republican and supported Barry Goldwater in the 1964 United States presidential election.

In April 1965, he was elected to the Santa Monica City Council.

His last film role was playing Holman in the science fiction horror film The Astro-Zombies in 1968. His co-stars in the film were John Carradine, Tura Satana, Rafael Campos, and Tom Pace.

He struggled with alcoholism.
