He was born in France but grew up in Finland with his family from the age of 3 months to 13 years.

Edouard is a multilinguist and can fluently converse in French, Finnish, Swedish, and English languages.

He caught the acting bug at the age of 13 years after watching Johnny Depp in Pirates of the Caribbean. Not long after, he got an agent and featured as the young Squire Edouard in the direct-to-video fantasy film, Dragonheart 3: The Sorcerer’s Curse (2015).

For his first leading role as a drug addict named Aiden in Michelle Danner’s The Runner (2021), Edouard lost around 37 lbs and went from weighing 160 lbs to less than 125 lbs. Additionally, he took home the ‘Best Lead Actor of the Year’ prize at the Lonely Wolf International Film Festival for his performance in 2021.

To prepare for his role as the Russian emperor Tsar Alexander (who was Napoleon Bonaparte’s famous rival-cum-friend) in Ridley Scott‘s Napoleon (2023), he studied Russian for 7 months, took horse riding lessons for 4 months, and worked with a dialect coach for 2 months. His co-stars in the film included Joaquin Phoenix as the titular character and Vanessa Kirby as his wife, Joséphine Bonaparte.

Edouard is really passionate about writing and directing. Additionally, he wrote and directed a short film called Yours in 2018.
