Aliya Hamidi started her career as a social media influencer before curating a path in the film industry. As a full-time internet personality, she gained a huge amount of attention from netizens after posting makeup tutorials, Instagram reels, and fashion-related content. On 9 June 2017, Aliya created her YouTube channel where she posted make-up tutorials and blogged about her everyday life. In February 2022, she received a silver play button for crossing 100,000 subscribers on YouTube.
Before becoming an actor, I had started my career as a social media influencer, through which I gained a lot of fan following. I would definitely agree that I had to and still have to undergo a lot of struggle and work my way through to get a role. At the same time, I believe that social media influencers, if wanting to become an actor, should be given a chance not looking at their background but also the hard work that they put in their reels which kind of is acting only.”
