She did her schooling at Delhi Public School Vasant Kunj, New Delhi. From 2009 to 2012, she pursued a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) at Ansal Institute of Technology, Gurgaon. Ankita Bansal and her sister, Gayatri, discovered their fashion instincts very early in life as they grew up watching their mother experimenting with fabric. In an interview, Ankita said,
I have always had a drive for entrepreneurship! Since we were little, my sister, Gayatri, and I were fascinated by the way our mother would experiment with fabric. Although neither of us is formally trained in design, we are immensely passionate and have a knack for spotting trends.”

Career
In 2012, she started working as a Credit underwriter at GE Capital, the financial services division of General Electric, in Gurgaon. After resigning from GE Capital in June 2014, she started working at the 4-star hotel Country Inn & Suites By Carlson, Gurgaon, as a Marketing Executive. She worked there for five months. In March 2015, she assumed the position of Account Manager at Creative Marketing Fix, where she worked for a year. In April 2016, she secured the position of Brand Manager at a fashion & retail e-commerce brand titled PostFold. She resigned from PostFold in February 2017. In August 2017, Ankita Bansal co-founded the denim brand THERE!, along with her younger sister, Gayatri Mallika Bansal. Thereafter, they registered their brand on the multinational e-commerce company Shopify to create a strong online presence and establish a direct-to-consumer channel.

Indian Matchmaking
In 2020, Ankita Bansal appeared in Netflix’s reality show Indian Matchmaking. The show follows the marriage consultant Sima Taparia, commonly referred to as Sima Aunty, as she sets up matches for Indian and Indian-American clients who are open to finding a partner via the arranged marriage process. In the show, Ankita gained immense appreciation from women across the globe for being a modern, career-oriented woman looking for an equal partner. Although Ankita did not find a match in the show, she attracted customers for her business.
