Then worked with Lord Tad at Cambridge University. From the year 1950 to 1952, Hargovind spent about 2 years at Cambridge University.
After this, he not only did research work in the famous university there but also worked as a professor, while the most surprising thing about Hargovind ji was that despite having a higher education, he was not able to have any in India at that time. Work could not be found, due to which he had to move to England.

Subsequently in 1960, Dr. Hargovind ji was awarded the Gold Medal at the Professor Institute of Public Service in Canada and was also awarded the Merck Award.
The same year Dr. Hargovind Khurana was made a professor at the Institute of Science Research at the University of Wisconsin, USA.
It was only in 1960 that the great scientist Dr. Khurana clarified this research of Neerberg and stated that D.N.A. The manner of configuration of four different types of nucleotides on the rotating ‘soap’ of the molecule determines the chemical structure and function of the new cell in a proper way.
Apart from this, the great scientist Dr. Hargovind Khurana ji has also played his important role in laying the foundation of gene engineering i.e. biotechnology.
Let me tell you that he was also awarded the Nobel Prize in the year 1968 for correctly understanding the language of genetic code and for demonstrating the role of nucleotide in protein synthesis.
However, the award was shared jointly with two more American scientists, Dr. Robert Holle and Dr. Marshall Nirenberg. Let us tell you that during this time, these three also explained the structure of DNA molecule and also explained how DNA synthesizes proteins.
While it was clear during his recharges that genes are formed by combining RNA and DNA, they are also considered to be the basic unit of life, while the basic secret of heredity is hidden in these acids.
In 1966, he accepted US citizenship. He was then appointed as the Alfred Sloan Professor of Biology at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the year 1970.
After this, he remained associated with this institute for about 37 years and during this time he gained a lot of fame.
