Nidhi Razdan was born on 11 April 1974 (age 48 years; as of 2022) in New Delhi (and grew up in London). Her native place is Budgam, (Central Kashmir), Jammu & Kashmir. She did her schooling at Apeejay School, Sheikh Sarai, New Delhi. She pursued her bachelor’s degree at Lady Shri Ram College, New Delhi. In 1998, she pursued a Post- Graduate Diploma in Radio and TV Journalism at the Indian Institute of Mass Communication, Delhi.

In 2011, there were rumours that Nidhi Razdan was in a relationship with the former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Omar Abdullah when he parted ways with his wife Payal, after 17 years of their marriage. Razdan was trolled on social media and even claimed to be married to Abdullah. However, she denied all the claims and replied to the netizens for spreading the fake news.

Nidhi Razdan joined NDTV in 1999 as an anchor and news reporter. On 31 January 2023, she took resigned from NDTV after working there for more than 22 years. She was the executive editor of NDTV. She is primarily known for hosting the news show ‘Left, Right & Centre,’ on NDTV 24×7, an English-language news channel.

In June 2020, she resigned from NDTV, but later re-joined NDTV as an anchor of the primetime show ‘No Spin’ in February 2022. On 31 January 2023, she took to Instagram to announce her resignation from NDTV.

- In 2010, she was presented with an award for the ‘Outstanding Media Person’ for excellence in journalism by the state government of Jammu and Kashmir.
- She received the ‘News Show Host of the Year 2010 – English’ at the Indian News Broadcasting Awards in 2010.
- In 2011, Nidhi Razdan received the Teacher’s Achievement Award (TAA) for Communication (Electronic Journalism).
- She won the award for Best Achor at ‘exchange4Media Awards’ in 2011.
- She was also presented with the Ramnath Goenka Award for Excellence in Journalism for reporting from Jammu and Kashmir and Northeast India.

- In an interview, Razdan revealed that she wanted to become a doctor when she was a child; however, her father suggested her to pursue some other profession as it would take a lot of time to become a doctor. She further said that she realised that she wanted to become a journalist when she was 18 years old.
- She is known for her calm behaviour.
- Nidhi Razdan did ground reporting in many dangerous places such as Iran, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. In an interview, she recalled an incident when she was reporting in Kashmir once, she said that she interviewed people who had crossed the Line of Control (LoC), but later, she was caught on the blacklist and Pakistan banned her visa for five years. She has also done some documentaries after the train bombings in the area of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, Tibet, and the UK.

- In June 2017, during a debate on the show ‘Left, Right & Centre,’ Nidhi Razdan ask Sambit Patra, an Indian politician, to get out of the show after he made a derogatory remark on the NDTV channel.
- Nidhi Razdan had been a victim of a phishing attack. In June 2020, she took to Twitter to announce her decision to quit NDTV and join Harvard University as an associate professor. However; she later came to know about the fraud that has been done to her and posted a tweet explaining the whole matter.

- In an interview, she revealed that she had been stalked twice by some strangers. She said that once a guy stalked her and used to send her predatory messages through emails and later, he reached her home. She further revealed that she filed a case against the stalkers in court.
- In 2019, NDTV won the IPI India Award for Excellence in Journalism for covering the news of the case of rape and murder of a young girl in Kathua, which was anchored by Nidhi Razdan.
