Posani Krishna Murali is an Indian screenwriter, actor, director, and producer who predominantly works in the Telugu film industry. He has worked as a writer for more than 100 Telugu films. As an actor, he is well known for his comical roles in several films.
Posani Krishna Murali was born on Wednesday, 22 January 1958 (age 65 years; as of 2023) in Pedakakani, Andhra Pradesh, India. His zodiac sign is Aquarius. Posani did his schooling in the Guntur district. He graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce. Later, he pursued a Master of Arts at Acharya Nagarjuna University in Guntur. Posani is a cousin of Indian directors and screenwriters Koratala Siva and Boyapati Srinu.
After graduating, Posani worked at Margadarsi Chit Fund company based out of Hyderabad. He worked there for a year following which he resigned and moved to Guntur. Later, he moved to Chennai and worked as an assistant director for Paruchuri Gopala Krishna.
He joined the writing team of the writing duo Paruchuri Brothers as an assistant writer. For five years, Posani assisted the Paruchuri Brothers with more than 100 films. In 1992, he left his job following which he wrote the story and dialogues for a Telugu film titled Police Brothers, which was directed by Mohan Gandhi. Later, he worked as a scriptwriter for several films including Gaayam (1993) and Rakshana (1993). He worked as the screenplay writer for the film Alluda Majaka (1995). Later, Posani worked on several hit films including Pavitra Bandham (1996) and Preminchukundam Raa (1997).
He made his directorial debut with the film Sravanamasam in 2005. He also worked as the writer and producer of this film. Later, he worked as the director and writer for several films including Operation Duryodhana (2007), Apadamokkulavadu (2008), and Dushasana (2011).

He worked as the story writer and dialogue writer for several Telugu films including Khaidi Inspector (1995), Adavi Dora (1995), Ravanna (2000), and Seetayya (2003).
He made his acting debut with the Telugu film Dharma Kshetram in 1992 in which he played a cameo role.

In 2013, he played the role of Shukla Bhai in the film Naayak. The role earned him a nomination for the best comic actor in SIIMA Awards 2014.

He appeared in many Telugu films including Temper (2015), James Bond (2015), Saakshyam (2018), Most Eligible Bachelor (2021), Itlu Amma (2021), and 18 Pages (2022). Posani appeared in an Indian Kannada-language period action film titled Kabzaa, which was released in theatres on 17 March 2023.

On 3 January 2009, he joined the Praja Rajyam Party before the 2009 General elections. In 2009, he contested and lost the Andhra Pradesh state legislative assembly elections from the Chilakaluripet constituency on a Praja Rajyam Party ticket. In 2011, Posani parted ways with the Praja Rajyam Party and joined the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party. On 3 November 2022, Posani Krishna Murali was appointed as the chairman of Andhra Pradesh Film Development Corporation.
At loggerheads with Pawan Kalyan
On the night of 29 September 2021, two unidentified men on motorcycles pelted stones at Posani Krishna Murali’s house in Yellareddyguda. Earlier that day, Posani held a press meeting at the Somajiguda press club where he criticized actor-politician Pawan Kalyan for supporting the Andhra Pradesh government. Later, he held another meeting in which he reported that he was being abused by more than 5000 people for his remarks on Pawan Kalyan. In this meeting, Posani was physically attacked by some unidentified people. On 30 September 2021, Posani lodged a complaint at the SR Nagar Police Station for the same, following which the police arrested the culprits who attacked him. Posani conducted a press meeting the following day in which he used the words loafer and broker for Pawan Kalyan. He also alleged that Kalyan’s fans were behind the attack on his house. Reportedly, Posani said that if he got killed in this controversy, Pawan Kalyan and his fans would be responsible for his death.
