In 2001, Vinoth made his acting debut as a child artist with the Tamil film Nandha in which he played the role of young Nandha.

In 2010, he shot to fame with his performance in the Tamil film Naan Mahaan Alla in which he played the role of a villain. He was nominated for the Best Villain award at the Vijay Awards.

In 2017, Vinoth made his television debut and participated in the Tamil dance competition television reality show Dance Jodi Dance (season 2) along with her choreographer, Jessie, on Zee Tamil. The show pairs twelve celebrities with choreographers, and they proceed ahead competing against each other with their dance performances. In 2019, he participated again in season 3 of the reality show Dance Jodi Dance, along with choreographer Narana Joshan.
