Yar Muhammad Rind is a Pakistani politician and member of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. As of 2022, he is serving as the Chief of the Rind Tribe , President of the Balochistan Chapter of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, and Parliamentary Leader of PTI in the Provincial Assembly of Balochistan.

The couple got divorced a few years after their marriage as Ayla complained that Rind wanted to keep her confined to the four walls of his house. Together, they have a son named Sardar Khan Rind, who is the chairman of Rind Qaumi Ittehad (RQI), and a daughter named Myra Malik, who is married to the Pakistani politician Amir Malik.

Sardar Yar Muhammad Rind is a Balochi from the Rind tribe.
Sardar Yar Muhammad Rind started his political career by joining the Pakistan Peoples Party in the 1980s. In March 1985, he became a Member of the Senate of Pakistan on a general seat from the Balochistan constituency. He assumed the seat till March 1988.
Member of National Assembly
In 1990, Rind got elected to the National Assembly of Pakistan from the NA-201 Kachhi Constituency. From 1993 to 1996, Sardar Yar Muhammad Rind served as the Member of the National Assembly of Pakistan from the NA-201 Jhal Magsi-cum- Bolan (Kachhi) Constituency. In 1997, Rind contested the National Assembly elections from NA-201 Jhal Magsi-cum- Bolan (Kachhi) on a ticket of the Pakistan Peoples Party and won. In 2002, he again won the National Assembly elections from NA-267 Kachhi Constituency. Rind served as a Federal Minister for Food, Agriculture, and Livestock from 2002 to 2007 during the government of Pakistan Muslim League (Q).
Member of the Provincial Assembly of Balochistan
In 2008, Rind won the Provincial Assembly of Balochistan from PB-30 Bolan-I Constituency on a ticket of the Pakistan Peoples Party. However, the party lost the elections and the government was made by National People’s Party (NPP). From 2008 to 2013, Rind served as the Leader of the Opposition in the Provincial Assembly of Balochistan. In October 2015, he resigned from the National People’s Party and joined the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. In the same year, Rind was appointed as the President of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf for Balochistan.

He assumed the post till 25 December 2021. On 13 August 2018, he got elected to the Provincial Assembly of Balochistan from PB-17 Kachhi-cum-Mastung Constituency on a ticket of the National People’s Party. On 20 March 2019, Rind was appointed as a Special Assistant to Prime Minister Imran Khan on Activities pertaining to the Ministries of Water Resources, Power and Petroleum in Balochistan in the Federal Cabinet of Pakistan.

He resigned from his post in March 2022 owing to constant ignorance by the government and the Prime Minister of Pakistan. While talking about the same during a media conversation, Yar Muhammad said,
This is my final decision. I was special assistant [to prime minister] only to the extent of issuing notifications. I had no authority. I was not even invited to any meetings on Balochistan… no one including the federal ministers contacted me for any meetings.”
Rind has also been serving as the Provincial Minister for Secondary Education & Colleges, Technical & Higher Education in the Provincial Cabinet of Balochistan since 23 January 2020.

- Sardar Yar Muhammad Rind has actively worked towards providing free education to the children in Pakistan. In 2015, he initiated a project with his son to provide free education, food, and living to around 400 Pakistani children.
- In November 2019, Rind laid the foundation stone of Mir Chakar Rind Grid Station at Dhadar, Balochistan.

- In 2022, a few audio clips went viral on social media in which the Pakistani politician and former cricketer Imran Khan could be heard having an inappropriate conversation with a woman, supposedly Rind’s ex-wife, Ayla Malik.
